Textival Rug & Textile Workshop LLC, based in Albuquerque New Mexico,
offers world-class rug and textile cleaning and restoration services to

Navajo and southwestern textiles, decorative area rugs, and ethnographic
textiles. Textival’s primary mission is the long-term conservation
of handmade textiles--maintaining their artistic, cultural, and investment

Owner Rufus Cohen has over 20 years’ experience in Oriental Rug and textile work, and began Textival in 1997 after moving to New Mexico from California. His father John Cohen is a scholar of Andean textiles who studied with Joseph and Anni Albers, and Rufus grew up in a family of artists, scholars, and anthropologists. Rufus’ wife Suzanne Sbarge currently runs 516 Arts in Albuquerque.
